Vacation homes provide travelers an opportunity to enjoy and explore Vancouver Island communities, waterways and landscapes from a totally self contained accommodation with many of the comforts of home and then some. 
Vacation homes are fully furnished houses. In general they have bedrooms, kitchens, a washroom and living areas.
Many provide a number of bedrooms and washrooms (up to 6 bedrooms in some cases). All with a supply of fresh linens and pillows.
Most of the accommodation kitchens are equipped with cooking utensils and all sorts of gadgets for cooking your meals and for entertaining guests.
The living areas or entertainment rooms are decorated with sofas and tables ready for lounging and late night conversations.
Locations of vacation homes and rental suites vary in a big way. Some are located in the downtown core of communities close to the city services and night life. While others may be tucked away in neighbourhoods.
Some rural vacation homes and rental suites are located on top of mountain peaks in mountain chalets. While others are located in remote landscapes, happily isolated, situated alone on the shores of a lake, ocean or river.
Vacation homes and rental suites, may or may not include, such items as a phone,
fireplace, TV, VCR, video games, stereo system, pool room, bar, swimming pool, outdoor patio, beach access, movie selection, board games, jacuzzi tub, internet, sauna, hot tub, laundry facilities and on and on the list goes. Ask accommodation about the amenities important to you if you are not sure.
Some vacation homes are strategically located so to be near and have quick access to golf courses, ski mountains, nordic centres, boat rentals, sandy beaches, marinas, boat launches, airports, ferry services, restaurants, spas, conference facilities, special events and city attractions.
A vacation home accommodation is
one of the most popular types of accommodations available in some of the communities located on Vancouver Island.
It is recommended to make reservations. Some request a 3 night minimum stay. Some will provide weekly and monthly rentals (especially in the off seasons).
