Pultenay Point Trail & Lighthouse
Pultenay Point Trail is located on Malcolm Island, British Columbia, Canada. Malcolm Island is situated off the northern east coast of Vancouver Island near the community of Port McNeill, BC. The short trail is an easy grade trail leading to a pebbled beach, a lighthouse and some amazing ocean views.
The entire trail to the lighthouse should take no longer than 20 -30 minutes. From the trailhead to the pebbled beach is a 15 minute walk through forests. Once on the beach continue walking along the shores of the beach to the lighthouse. Once on the beach the lighthouse can be seen in the distance.
The lighthouse is one of the few manned lighthouses still operating in British Columbia. Time your adventure right and there is a good possibility that the lighthouse keeper will be available for questions and conversation.
How to Get to Pultenay Point Trail & Lighthouse
Travel Highway 19 to the community of Port McNeill on the north end of Vancouver Island, BC, Canada. In Port McNeill there is a ferry terminal transporting people and vehicles to Sointula on Malcolm Island. Once on Malcolm Island proceed to Pultenay Point Road. At the end of the road is a gate - park here and begin your hike. |
