Qualicum Bay, BC Qualicum Bay, BC is a waterfront beach community located, 25 minutes north of Qualicum Beach, on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. The region is referred to as Lighthouse Country. Qualicum Bay, Deep Bay and Bowser are the three small villages in Lighthouse Country. Qualicum Bay is the bigger of the three. The region was named after the lighthouses located on Sisters Island located near Chrome Island and Denman Island. Qualicum Bay is on the waterfront. A vast sandy beach fronts the village. The main street of the village, doubles as the Oceanside Highway, runs parallel to the coastline. Services are minimal in the community as it is a resort destination. However lining the highway are some services like campgrounds, rv parks, restaurants and inns. Qualicum Bay, however small, is a popular destination for camping, scuba diving, fishing and kayaking. For sightseeing, the eclectic village of Coombs is located west of the village. It is a popular attraction. Hiking is enjoyed both north and south of the village. North are the endless adventures in Strathcona Park. A short drive south are some excellent parks and trails near the communities of Qualicum Beach and Parksville. |
