Land

From Victoria (South Vancouver Island) : Travel north for 111 kilometres on Highway #1 to the community of Nanaimo. From Nanaimo continue traveling on Hwy #19 (main Island Highway) north for 37 kilometres to the community of Parksville and Qualicum Beach. On the highway look for the Hwy #4 Exit. Take Hwy #4 and continue driving for 47 kilometres to Port Alberni.

From Nanaimo (Central Vancouver Island) : From the BC Ferry Terminal in Nanaimo drive to the main Island Highway. From Nanaimo continue traveling on Hwy #19 (main Island Highway) north for 37 kilometres to the community of Parksville and Qualicum Beach. On the highway look for the Hwy #4 Exit. Take Hwy #4 and continue driving for 47 kilometres to Port Alberni.

From Port Hardy (North Vancouver Island) : Travel south for 238 kilometres on Highway #19A to the community of Campbell River. From Campbell River continue traveling on Hwy #19 (or travel the Oceanside Route) south for 50 kilometres to the community of Courtenay. Continue south on either highway for 62 kilometres to Qualicum Beach. On the highway look for the Hwy #4 Exit. Take Hwy #4 and continue driving for 47 kilometres to Port Alberni.

Air

There is an small airport servicing private planes and charter planes in Port Alberni. Float planes are also a mode of air travel used in traveling to and from Port Alberni. Float planes depart from Alberni Inlet and the local lakes.
