Parksville, BC Community Beach
Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada
The
community of Parksville BC is centred around one
of the best public beach parks on Vancouver Island
called the Community Beach. A popular gathering
place for locals and visitors because of the many amenities
onsite. Not only is the beach covered in fine sand, littered with
driftwood, shells and patrolled by seabirds but the area is a mecca
for activity.
The
Community Park has it all and is for everyone of
all shapes and sizes. There is an excellent children's waterpark
for families with slides, ladders and swings. Next door is a concession
stand and washrooms. Nearby is a skateboard park, tennis courts
and an outdoor lacrosse rink. And don't forget the endless sandy
beach.
The middle area of the Community Park
in Parksville is a large grassy field and some
beach volleyball courts. The grassy field is always in use by some
activity like people enjoying a day out with a remote control plane,
flying a kite, playing bocce.. throwing a baseball, football or
frisbee.
Along
the shoreline of the park, pointing out at the ocean and beach,
are picnic tables and viewing benches. Although many decide to bring
their own chairs or blankets and pick a piece of beach closer to
the horizon and spread out to enjoy the view.
There are always a good number of people getting
lost in a good book. And then there are others who sit back and
people watch. While some come to walk the beach while others prefer
to capture the beach activity on film. Parking is tricky in some
seasons if you want oceanfront parking along the road .. good luck
... the best bet is to park at any of the many parking lot near
the entrance of the park which are allot bigger.
Parksville
Community Park is located centrally on Vancouver
