Pacific Rim National Park Reserve
Long Beach

Long Beach is one of the more popular sandy beach destinations located in the Pacific Rim National Park near the communities of Tofino and Ucluelet, British Columbia, Canada. Long Beach is one of the larger beaches in the park.

There are islands, rock outcroppings, plenty of fine white sand, driftwood logs, dwarfed trees and tidal pools at low tide. The big waves and winds attract surfers from around the world. The amazing beach scenery, rainforest and services attracts the crowds. Services at the beach include two large pay parking lots, changing facilities and flush toilets.

Long Beach is the main beach, in a chain of beaches, on the west coast of Vancouver Island, BC, Canada. Long Beach, along with Florencia Bay, Wickaninnish, Combers and Schooner Cove beaches create the longest sand dune on Vancouver Island stretching for over 16 kilometres!

During the summer months Long Beach is a popular destination for many activities like surfing, beachcombing, picnicking, snorkeling, walking, sightseeing, swimming, wake boarding, bocce ball and frisbee.

During the winter months Long Beach is one of the key destinations in the region for storm watching. People arrive during the winter seasons with rain gear, rubber boots and video camera to walk the misty beaches during a west coast storm. Make sure to stay above the tide line. Keep your head up for rogue waves and flying driftwood logs.

All visitors to the park must have a Park Use Permit. Pack out what you pack in.

How to get to the Long Beach

Travel towards Tofino on the Pacific Rim Hwy. Along the Pacific Rim Hwy look for the road signs on your left indicating the Long Beach parking lot or the second parking lot called the Incinerator Rock parking lot. Both are Long Beach access parking lots. Park, pay and enjoy.
