Victoria Elk & Beaver Lake Regional Park
Vancouver Island, BC, Canada

Elk Lake and Beaver Lake Regional Park is a very popular fresh water lake destination which is only 20 minutes from downtown Victoria or 25 minutes from the BC Ferry Terminal north of Sidney, BC. Elk Beaver Lake Regional Park was established in 1966 and covers over 442 hectares including two lakes - Elk Lake and Beaver Lake.

The trail system within the Regional Park explores the surrounding forests and follows, mostly along the shoreline of the lake. Most of the lake's trail system is designed for hikers, walkers, bikes and horseback riders. And the park is wheelchair accessible so all can enjoy.

Beaver Lake Park also has an Equestrian Centre. Any use of the centre should go through the booking office within the park. The area draws thousands of outdoor addicts every year from the islands and from around the world to enjoy the sandy shores of Beaver Beach. The beach is shallow and warm and is very popular with families. Many come to spend a day on Beaver Beach for swimming, day picnics, canoeing or to kayak out to the little offshore islands in the middle of the lake.

The sandy beach of Eagle Beach is a launching point for kayakers, canoeist and is the home to many of our Canadian rowing teams. Elk Lake also has a connecting trail leading all explorers to Beaver Lake.

Hamsterly Beach also of Elk Lake fame is where you can find the windsurfers riding the winds coming down from the mountains and skimming the lake surface.

How to get to Elk/Beaver Lake Provincial Park: Access to Beaver Lake is off of the Pat Bay Hwy between the communities of Victoria and Sidney.
