Accessing Parks and Wharves
Marina Home | Vancouver Island | Gulf Islands | Sunshine Coast
British Columbia Canada has many marine parks to explore, most with protected moorage and all weather anchorages. The network of marine parks are open year round and can range in amenities. Some of the marine parks are full service with most having no on shore facilities. Some parks have day use facilities with a developed campsite onsite with pit toilets. Most of the parks have drinking water taps.
Most of the marine parks do not charge for moorage, but again most of those parks have very limited facilities. The most popular marine parks like Montague Harbour, Newcastle Island and Sidney Spit do charge a moorage fee.
Public wharves in British Columbia are mostly reserved for commercial fishing vessels. It can be difficult in peak seasons to obtain moorage at some of the public wharves because of the high number of fishing boats. A public wharf is easily identified by the red painted rails.
