Ladysmith includes the regions of
Yellow Point and South Cedar. The village is an ideal departure
point to enjoy scenic day drives to other nearby communities in
the Cowichan Valley and it is a launching point for some scenic
circle routes like down Brenton Page Road or the Cedar Road
Loop visiting the Yellow Point area near the country village
of Cedar.
How to get to Ladysmith, B.C., Canada:
Ladysmith BC Vancouver Island is
only a 85 km (53 mi) drive north of Victoria BC
on Hwy 1. The short trip up and over the Malahat
is filled with ocean and mountain views with two view points of
the Saanich Peninsula. Definitely worth a stop. The communities
on your way to Ladysmith include Duncan
BC which is only 25 (km) south and little further is Chemainus
BC. Coming from Nanaimo, north of Ladysmith
BC it is only a 26 km 16 (mi) drive. South of Nanaimo,
closer to Ladysmith is Cassidy. Cassidy
is the home to the Nanaimo Airport and the Duke
Point Ferry Terminal providing easy access to the area.
