Hotels, motels and inns provide travelers an opportunity to explore Vancouver Island communities while still enjoying access to nearby special events, attractions and backcountry adventures.

Vancouver Island hotels are usually located in the core of a community - often close to downtown services, attractions and highways. Most hotel and motel accommodations have paved parking lots and a lobby welcoming visitors to the accommodation and answering any questions they may have.

Many hotels are housed in high rise buildings with balconies. Each include a variety of services and amenities. Hotels, may or may not, include room service, restaurant, coffee shop, gift store, cocktail lounge, entertainment, conference facilities, business services, shuttle service, recreational activities, gym, pool, sauna, hot tub, internet, etc.

Hotel and motel rooms and guest suites vary greatly. Some are basic one room suites with a single bed, washroom, phone and tv. On the other end of the scale other hotels provide deluxe suites with 2-3 rooms, a kitchenette, a king size bed, big screen tv, business centre, lounging area, jacuzzi tubs, access to spa, golf courses and restaurant bars.

Vancouver Island, British Columbia motels and motor inns tend to be housed in low rise buildings offering a smaller selection of services than a hotel. Many are located near downtowns and in communities but some motels are also located outside of the city limits in the rural areas.

It is wise to book in advance with some Hotels and Motels especially during special events, weekends and holidays. Prices for rooms vary greatly per hotel and motel. Peak season runs from May to September. Vancouver Island Hotels and Motels vary in quality and services provided so ask questions.
