the world famous West Coast Trail and the
rugged 3.5 rainforest hike, Keeha Bay Beach Trail.
Both bring you up front and close to the private Pacific
Ocean sandy beaches. A great opportunity to explore
the ocean waters of Barclay Sound by motor
boat, kayak or sail boat where a whole
new world opens up abundant in marine wildlife. Famous for
kayaking are the nearby Broken
Islands Group and the Deer Islands Group.
Also in the wilderness back country of Bamfield
are many logging trail roads ideal for back country
mountain biking. Trails will vary in degree of difficulty

Carmanah Walbran: Carmanah Walbran Provincial Park is a mix-mash of wilderness forest ecosystems. An absolute natural treat for the eyes. The hiking trails, although rough and challenging, take you on a trip through Sitka Spruce eco-systems covering the skyline reaching up to 100 metres in the air and have like over 800 rings (years old) to there name!

Bamfield Boardwalk:
After the water taxi ride to the West Bamfield side of the village there is a boardwalk oceanside walking path leading from the fisheries Dock to the Coast Guard Marine Station and the Government Dock. It follows the shoreline with benches and a cafe along the way so you can stop and watch the marine activity

Keeha
Bay Beach Trail : 3.5 kilometres of hiking the Pacific
Rim rainforests climbing tree roots, balancing on logs over
mud swamps, walking slippery fallen trees and rope climbing
down steep hills (ropes all ready on trail). The prize at
the end of the trail is Keeha Bay Beach. Endless white sandy
beaches laced with driftwood. A tranquil, often deserted beach
that allows responsible wilderness camping.

Cape Beale Headlands Trail:
6.5 kilometres mud trail through thick, often wet rainforests leading to the point at Cape Beale. Trail is filled with challenges climbing roots, hoofing along on muddy trails around mud sink holes and sometimes visibility is affected by the misty fog as Cape Beale is exposed to the Pacific Ocean elements. Keeha Bay Trail makes up the beginning part of the trail to Cape Beale before turning right at the trail junction 1.5 kilometres in.

Broken
Islands Group: The world famous Broken Islands
is a preferred destination for the overnight beach wilderness
kayaking adventure seeker and a docking destination for yachts
and sailboats. The outer islands sometimes deal with with
harsher ocean currents, swells and winds. The Inner Islands
of the Broken Islands enjoys calming tidal currents and winds
as the islands protect the adventurer from the harsher weather
conditions. There are many beaches to explore, some with camping
designation.

Deer Islands Group: Close to Bamfield, BC and is best accessed from the East Bamfield section of the community at Port Desire. A smaller group of islands, Deer Islands, are patrolled by fishing vessels and sailboats for heavy marine traffic in the open waters. A preferred destination ideal for overnight kayaking adventure tours with plenty of available beach wilderness camping opportunities. Sea Lions, Bald Eagles, Porpoises and Whales frequent the area.
