- Ocean Fishing: Fishing is the main activity in and around Tahsis, BC. The ocean waters is populated with Chinook, Pink, Sockeye, Chum, Coho,
Halibut, Cod and Snapper.
- Hiking and Backpacking: The best hiking and backpacking routes in the region is enjoyed in a 250,000 hectare park - Strathcona Park and on Nootka Island. Both destinations require transportation as they are a located a fair distance from the community. Locally there are a few hiking routes exploring the back country forests behind the community.
- Wildlife Tours: Viewing wildlife in the region is enjoyed as a self guided tour or with a guided tour. Most of the tours are marine tours with the most popular - the MV Uchuck - located in Gold River. Wildlife is often spotted while driving the road from Tahsis to Gold River and from Tahsis to Woss.
- Caving: The region around the communities of Tahsis and Gold River are near many caving destinations. The most popular being the Upana Caves.
- Rock Climbing: The region on the coast where Tahsis is located is populated with cliffs, mountains and crags. It is an ideal landscape for rock climbers. The Crest Creek Crags located east of Tahsis near Gold River has over 100 climbing routes
and 15 crags to climb.
- Scuba Diving: Some of the least explored waters for scuba diving are located in the area of Tahsis, BC. Rent a boat or hire a guide to take you out to the reefs and islands for a day of scuba diving.
- Ocean Kayaking: From Tahsis, BC paddlers can access the Nootka Sound. Some decide to board a boat with kayak in hand in anticipation of a wet launch. Once the boat reaches the designated destination the kayakers off load and begin paddling.
