Gordon Bay Provincial Park Gordon Bay Provincial Park is a recreation park located in Lake Cowichan, BC on Cowichan Lake on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. The park includes a large campground and a sandy beach. It is the most visited park on Cowichan Lake. The 51 hectare park is a very popular summer destination in the Cowichan Valley region. There are many activities enjoyed in the park like swimming, water skiing, boating, jet skiing, camping, wind surfing, sun tanning, houseboating and canoeing. Cowichan Lake is very popular for boating, kayaking, fishing and canoeing. The boat launch to this popular fresh water lake is located northeast of the day-use parking lot. Fishing is for Rainbow, Cutthroat and Dolly Varden trout. A fishing licence is mandatory in British Columbia. Gordon Bay Provincial Park enjoys, both, a day use area and a campground area. The day use area is adjacent to the main large gravel parking lot. From the parking lot take a short trail to the sandy beach. Some of the services in the day use area include picnic tables, fire pits and washrooms. The park`s swimming area is in a protected cove sectioned off by a log boom. A popular activity among the swimmers is walking the connecting logs without falling in. Not as easy as it sounds. But it is possible as we have attempted the great feat with clothes on, as a dare... and made it. In the campground there are campsites with fire pits and picnic tables. There are tenting and pull through camping sites available. Within the campground there is an adventure playground, amphitheatre and some flush toilets. At the far end of the sandy beach is a short hiking trail that leads to a cove and some views. At the end of the trail are some flat rocks for relaxing.
